13Feb 6, 2010 2:04 PMWe have also been following the NOW House project, a CMHC award winning initiative. We have many war time homes in Brock area. The first war time home was renovated in East York, Toronto to become energy efficient. Now cities such as Kitchener, Ottawa and Windsor are following by retrofitting wartime homes in conjunction with sponsorship from The Ontario Power Authority.

30Feb 18, 2010 8:57 PMTownshouses on the vacant lot around Victoria Village, Ross, Sophia and Grove, Anne. We need to be very careful in the design and integrity of these developments because they are going to really make a statement as to what Barrie is about - proper design is the most important factor as well as surrounding landscape.

47Mar 2, 2010 2:01 PMPerhaps use the old molson brewery plant site. We wont likely get another Barrie factory. Use it. Knock it down, put some proper flats for older people, etc. or use it for low rentals. But do something with it. It looks terrible sitting there. And provide proper bus service for the area would enhance the appeal.
